Half-Marathon

I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who donated, wished me luck, and anyone who even had a passing thought about my quest to conquer this half-marathon.

It was a huge success.  I am incredibly glad that I did it.  The rewarding feeling that I had as I crossed the finish line was great!  As soon as I got to mile 12 and knew definitively that I was going to be crossing the finish line my emotions were hard to control.  I kept thinking to myself, "6 months and 4 days ago I was on an operating table having my ileostomy taken down and now I'm finishing a half-marathon."  It was like being on the disabled list and coming back to win the Cy Young Award.

The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America did a fantastic job putting everything together.  It really was a fantastic weekend.  Check out the links for pictures, results, and the blog for more detailed info about how everything turned out.

Once again, thanks to everybody for the much appreciated support.  It was overwhelming and I thank you all.  The CCFA was able to raise over $2 million towards researching cures for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
